SUNDAYS

TRUTH SEEKERS’ CLASS

Psalms
11:00 a.m. in the Morgan House Dining Room
Led by Grace Gaillard
Began September 25

The Book of Psalms contains every conceivable type of prayer: prayers of worship and praise, confession and acknowledgment, intercession and supplication, protection and deliverance, vindication and forgiveness, renewal and restoration, reward and thanksgiving. There are prayers of deep emotion and feeling, in which the writers did not hold back. With this study, using the LifeChange series from NavPress, we will broaden and deepen our understanding and experience of prayer and, in turn, learn to model our own prayers to be more Scripturally based. Study guides are being ordered now. Call Grace to place your order, at 860.918.6326.

This study will go through the book verse by verse, exploring in depth the different facets of spirituality that appear in the letter, as well as Paul's teaching about the church, relationships, and a host of other subjects. All are welcome.

Deuteronomy: Becoming Hole People, a study guide by Stephen D. Eyre, is our current resource, running through mid-November. The author leads you to explore the story told in Deuteronomy—the story of God’s people seeking after Him. As you trace their journey—experiencing their forward progress, their detours and their obstacles—you, too, will learn to follow God more closely. The study is offered in two locations: Tuesday mornings in the Fireside Room and Thursday mornings in Conference Room 1. The sessions run simultaneously every week, so if you need to miss one, you can attend the other instead. The cost of the workbook is $7 and can be paid through Christine Tangney (860.529.1575 x223 or christinet@firstchurch.org).
