Women’s & Seniors’ Luncheon

Broadcaster Al Kim

The inaugural luncheon for Women’s Fellowship and our Seniors Ministry will feature the wonderful (and entertaining!) broadcaster Al Kim, known to many of us as the host of Rise & Shine on Life Changing Radio WSDK. Al has been working in media/radio for nearly 20 years. Besides his broadcasting career, he has helped execute radio marketing plans for some of the biggest names in Christian music, including Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, and Amy Grant. Al’s more complete bio is shared below:

Al has been working in media/radio for nearly 20 years. Besides his broadcasting career, he has helped execute radio marketing plans for some of the biggest names in Christian music, including Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, MercyMe, DC Talk, John Tesh, Yolanda Adams, and NewSong, among many Dove Award-winning and #1-charting artists and groups.

For the past 11 years, Al has been Professor of Communications and Media at Manchester Community College, where he serves as Faculty Advisor and founder for their campus radio station, TV Club, and Bible Club.

For the past six years, he's been host/producer of the public affairs show Rise & Shine on Life Changing Radio, WSDK/1550AM and 95.3FM (Saturday mornings, 10-11AM).

He lives in Glastonbury with his wife of 24 years, Colleen, and their two sons. He is active in the Music, Youth, Children’s and Strategic Long-Range Planning Ministries at Bethany Covenant Church in Berlin, Connecticut. Al serves on the Board of Directors of the Manchester Area Conference of Churches and the Glastonbury YMCA.
