Join us on Sunday, April 13th at 4:00 PM in the Meetinghouse when the First Church Choir presents a Palm Sunday Concert as part of our 2024-2025 Meetinghouse Concert Series. The concert will feature the music of Alice Parker (1925-2023), including her Melodious Accord cantata based on hymn tunes and texts found in the 1832 shape-note hymnal titled Genuine Church Music. The concert will be accompanied by brass quintet, harp, organ, and percussion, all under the direction of Sean McCarthy. The audience will be invited to join with the choir, brass, and organ in singing thrilling arrangements of some of our most beloved hymns. This event is free with a donation accepted at intermission.
