Melanie is thrilled to be taking on the role as head teacher in the 4 day 4's class this year! She joined the First Church staff as an assistant teacher in the 4 day 4's last year and served as a substitute prior to that. She loves watching the growth of each student throughout the year as they become increasingly ready for that next step! In 2015, Melanie and her husband made the move to Wethersfield to be close to family and raise their daughter who attended First Church for her preschool years. As a stay-at-home mom, Melanie was able to provide regular childcare for family members and loved every minute of it. Prior to her stay-at-home years, she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from UConn and worked in various roles within the spa industry for many years. Melanie is actively involved in the PTO at her daughter's school where she enjoys volunteering. She also enjoys spending time with her family, especially their yearly trips to Cape Cod, reading, and being a mom.
