GROUPS AND LIFE GROUPS

At First Church, one of our Focus Values is community.

Groups and Life Groups are a few of the ways that we can focus and grow together as a community.

A First Church Life Group is a small community of roughly twelve people who meet regularly for an informal time of fellowship and learning. They encourage one another in spiritual growth through study, discussion, and sharing together God's Word. Prayer, mutual concern, and acceptance are also key components.

There are many different groups, meeting in different locations; surely there is a place for you!
Other ministry departments also offer groups formed around special interests: men's, women’s, couples, singles, mothers of preschoolers, youth, or those suffering from addictions.

If you are interested in becoming a part of a Life Group, OR interested in starting one,

please contact Pastor Wayne at waynel@firstchurch.org, or 860 529 1575 ext.116.

NEW STUDY

The New City Catechism: 52 Questions and Answers for our Hearts and Minds

Do you desire a better understanding of the core doctrines of the Christian Faith? Do you long to let the word of Christ "dwell richly within you" so that God's truth takes root to help you think and act biblically?

Throughout the history of  the church, Christians have used catechisms - collections of questions and answers - to teach central doctrines of the faith. The New City Catechism Devotional is a gospel-centered, modern-day resource that examines and summarized important transformative Christian beliefs.

Helga Phillips will lead this study on Wednesday evenings beginning September 20 at 7:00 PM in the Church Parlor. For further information or to register, email Helga at hephillips@comast.net or call 860-525-1357.
