Brigette Bean

Preschool Assistant

Originally from Texas, Brigette came to Connecticut in 2023 to complete an administrative internship at a private, nonprofit elementary school as she was working to complete a graduate degree in Professional and Technical Communications at the University of North Texas. Here, she researched grant opportunities that aligned with the school’s mission and worked with several key members of the administrative staff to create several content deliverables for this organization. These deliverables ranged from proposal packages, newsletters, brochures and web-based design. Brigette has since completed her master’s program where she has gained extensive experience in several principal content creation and management skills along with familiarizing herself with the software used to create this content. Additionally, Brigette has previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Communications Studies where she practiced communication ethics, rhetorical theory, and how to analyze and evaluate messages. While completing her administrative internship, Brigette also worked as a substitute for all grades and age groups along with participating as a summer day camp counselor. She then went on to work as a teacher’s assistant for a nursery program during her gap year. Through these experiences, Brigette found that working with children, especially those in early childhood, had fully unlocked a true passion for her that she has chosen to further and actualize by fully committing her career path to school administration. Through this work, Brigette hopes to help facilitate a smooth transition from home to preschool by supporting the parents, children and staff here at First Church of Christ Preschool. Brigette is so beyond grateful she has found a home here in Connecticut and is excited to utilize her background, education, and work experience to contribute to the church’s ongoing success.
