Melanie is thrilled to be joining the First Church staff as an assistant teacher after serving as a substitute during the 2023-2024 school year. In 2015, Melanie and her husband made the move to Wethersfield to be close to family and raise their daughter who attended First Church for her preschool years. As a stay at home mom, Melanie was able to provide regular childcare for family members and loved every minute of it. Prior to her stay-at-home years, she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from UConn followed by an esthetician’s license and worked in various roles within the spa industry for several years on both the east and west coasts. In more recent years, she looked to take on a new role as a volunteer at her daughter’s school and is actively involved in the PTO. Melanie enjoys spending time with her family, especially their yearly trips to Cape Cod, reading, and being a mom.
