Nicole Wereb

Assistant teacher | 2 and 3-Day 3s class

Nicole is excited to begin her second year on staff at First Church Preschool. She worked alongside Kristin Hacker last year in the 3's classes and feels like she found her calling! She discovered her love of working with young children in 2018 when she began providing childcare for the First Church Mastering Motherhood program in the 2’s and 3’s class. During that time, she also substituted in the preschool from time to time.  She’s originally from upstate New York where she graduated with a BA in English (Writing) from SUNY Plattsburgh. Prior to having kids, she worked as a Grant Writer for continuing medical education. She became primarily a stay-at-home mom when her son was born in 2009, occasionally taking on freelance grant writing work. Now that her children are “big kids”, she realizes how much she misses the preschool years and being a part of young children's growth, not only academic, but perhaps more importantly - social/emotional. She enjoys reading, writing, DIY/interior decorating projects, and spending time with family and friends. She lives in Wethersfield with her husband, Matt, and her children, Ethan and Ariana (Ari).
